Austin City Limits

This is as "artsy" as I get...

Todd, myself, Allison and Tim headed out for Austin on Thursday night (Luke stayed with Nana and Papa). We stayed at the Austin Motel and the best way to describe it is kitschy in a good way. Friday our friend Jessica and her daughter Madelyn met up with us for lunch. Here are all of us ladies...

Friday, Saturday and Sunday we made the 2 mile trek from our motel to Zilker Park where the festivities were. Along the way we were given lots of free stuff, including Shiner Beer. Here we are enjoying and toasting. That is Allison, Tim, Josh and Todd. Weird to think I have known Tim and Josh longer than Allison and Todd...we went to elementary school together.

Nice view along the way to the park. I realized on this trip what a great place Austin is. Nice people, nice outside areas, good food and shopping...

We have arrived!!!

Beautiful sunny day...on Friday! This was one of the 6 or 7 stages total in the park. It was the most well organized event I have ever been too. To keep noise down one band would play and as soon as they were done another band would start up on a nearby stage.

Another stage on Friday. I think they said 65,000 people attended the show in all.

Todd and Allison accompanied me to see The Zac Brown Band. Mother Nature must like Zac Brown too because while he was playing was the only time the rain stopped.

We managed to get pretty close to Zac and the guys... during the show security would come over the top of the hill, dance and go back down the other side. Two forms of entertainment rolled into one show.

Sunday night during a great performance by Girl Talk, some people were enjoying the mud more than others. By the way, the mud smelled like manure and we saw a handful of people peeing in it. YUCK!
