Happy Birthday Luke!

I can't believe my little guy is 1 year old! We had a wonderful (and extremely busy) week. It contained 3 birthday celebrations, yes, all for Luke, plus a Mother's Day get together. Even though our schedule was jam packed and we are still exhausted, it was so much fun. I actually think Luke enjoyed himself too. No meltdowns at the party or anything.

Good morning and happy birthday to you Luke!! He had just woken up and was looking for Todd I think.

When we got to Primrose they had put out a sign on his classroom door.

My class got on the birthday bandwagon and we brought donuts for them. Luke visited with us while they ate and he squeezed one to death.
Here he is celebrating in his class. Todd brought donut holes for the little guys. It was his first experience with donuts and apparently he liked them. Who doesn't?

Oops out of order picture but here he is after school playing on his new rocking dog. I think we was trying to dismount.

At school with Miss Angie and Miss Yoneisha. I took two pictures of this pose- in the first one he is looking at one teacher and in the next picture he is looking at the other teacher.

After school Nan and Papa (those are their official terms now) brought over presents that were bigger than Luke. Check out that pose...

When Todd got home we took a bike ride around the neighborhood. Our big gift to Luke was the bike seat and of course the helmet. He seemed to enjoy it but was very quiet. Check out our cool 007 liscense plate in the background.

After dinner (ravioli for Luke, his favorite) we ate brownies that Todd had baked especially for Luke's birthday. I would like to add that Todd baked the brownies all by himself...no help from me.

After dinner it was present time...

Can you tell he loved his Mavericks ball and Noah's Ark boat?

We also opened gifts from Stephanie and Jeff that came in the mail. Check out the tongue...massive concentration.

On Friday night Luke's Grandma and Grandpa Simm, Teri and Eden came to deliver gifts and dinner since they couldn't make it to his party. Here he is actually tearing paper off a gift.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for my big boy carseat.

Saturday, Party Day!!! Family picture in Nan and Papa's backyard. We had a little pool (filled with warm-ish water since it was not a sunny day), a bubble machine and lots of pool toys.

Luke's friend Baby Cooper was by far the most stylish dresser at the party. What a beach bum!

Me and my Uncle Brian...he is tall.
Luke's friends: Blake, Dominic, Raymond, Avri and Aunt Jen.

Let there be cake!!

On Mother's Day we had Nan, Papa, Great Grandma Brumleve and Gram over for some appetizers and drinks. Wow Luke, your grandparents look kind of silly...

Great Grandma's and Luke

Allison and Tim got Luke his first pets. They are a blue beta fish named Dirk and a snail named "Damps." We set up the tank in his room and he says "hi" to Dirk every morning.

Thanks to everyone who had a birthday wish or gift for Luke. This past year has been a wonderful whirlwind and it accumulated with quite the week of celebrating. I am sure no one has a doubt that this is one spoiled little guy, hence we are operating under the motto "spoiled but not a brat." Let's see if it works out.
