Happy Birthday Kona ...and Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day we had a (very tiny, miniscule) birthday party for our dog Kona. She is 7 years old now...hard to believe. She was a college graduation present from Todd to me (but she will always love him more). She was rescued as a puppy from living underneath a house in the country and they only knew she was born in the month of February so we picked Valentine's Day to celebrate.

After we hung out with Kona and Luke we took them to my mom and dad's house for a sleep over and we had a couples Valentine's Day dinner at our friends, the Reed's house. We were kind of boycotting the cutesy evening out and flowers and decided that each couple would contribute some part of the meal. Todd made crab bisque and our house still smells like crab but with some thickening help from Brandy it turned out awesome!! The evening was great and the food was delicious. Ryan and Brandy really outdid themselves.

Here I am with Herman, the Reed's dog. Todd of course is photo bombing in the background.

Todd in my scarf, Julie and Tommy hanging outside.

The hosts Ryan and Brandy.

The wonderful table setting. They really went all out-- even had goody bags for us.

Earlier in the day Luke and Kona were celebrating her big day. Kona got a can of tasty (and smelly) dog food, personalized treats from 3 Dog Bakery and a sleep over with Lima and Dixie for her big day (okay the sleepover really benefitted us too).

Todd trying on Luke's Valentine glasses. It is hard to find Valentine's Day presents for a 9 month old but he enjoyed seeing us wear the shades...

and even tolerated them for a few seconds himself.

Taking a picture in the bathroom. Don't ask why...I think that is where I found the camera. Again, don't ask why.
